Blah, blah, blah...That's all I think when I hear many of the claims made, on both sides of the aisle, about every issue in this country, from School Choice to Iraq, and beyond. Well, this Blog is going to transcend the rhetoric and focus on facts. While I will offer my analysis and opinion, I will clearly state that. Please feel free to comment on, ridicule, praise and promote views, facts, etc on this site. Conversation is good, let's just not get personal. Just the facts please!

Where have I been?

I don't remember.

It has been many months since my last post, simply due to lack of time. In the past few months, I have spent my summer recovering from my first year in law school. It was a struggle, and I learned a lot. I learned about myself and the law, and about others in my same situation. My first year has helped me grow as a person and prioritze those things and people who are going to be the best influences in my life.

Maggie and I are still going strong at 3 years, and everything is really going well. We continue to work on the minor day to day issues that come up, and we have learned how to compromise (she just does what I want). I think the new TV has really helped our relationship as she learned that buying stuff that is purely excessive can be beneficial and downright cool. (Imagine going from a 27" TV to a 61" HDTV when watching Oprah/football!)

I have been traveling a lot for work, but I have been rewarded with a raise of about 65% over last year. I am traveling between here and the Detroit area, so I have gotten to know Michigan. It's a nice state, much like Wisconsin, but the roads just suck. I leave for Munich on Sunday, so I will get to catch Oktoberfest in full force!

As far as my blog and going forward, I would like to get more into legal questions that will help with my poor writing abilities. Additionally, I am also going to make some private goals public in order to hold myself a lot more accountable. So here's my list for the rest of the school year:

  1. Dean's list for both semesters
  2. Work or study abroad opportunity for summer 2007
  3. Finalize career path following law school
  4. Write an article
  5. Train for a 5k run
  6. Learn how to ride a bike (no, I never learned)
  7. Buy Golden Tee
  8. Transition to another role at work
  9. Lose my last 20 or so pounds
  10. Blog more
  11. Learn to enjoy writing
  12. Begin Chinese lessons
  13. Improve my conversational Spanish
  14. Find a pair of black business casual shoes that I actually like
  15. SLOW DOWN

The last goal is my most important goal. I need to stop and smell the roses, learn how to enjoy the weather, my car, my relationship, my family, my TV, my furniture, my peace and quiet, my education. I need to enjoy all of the things and peoplein my life that I have worked so hard to attain.
